What does thot mean?

Thot (also thottie) is a slang term for a woman who is considered sexually promiscuous. It is often used in place of the word ho (or whore) and is sometimes used as a general term for a woman.

Where does thot come from?

Thot originated as an acronym for “that ho over there.” Early uses of the term are often attributed to Chicago hip-hop artists and rappers, such as Chief Keef, who helped the term gain popularity around 2012. Thot continued to be used in rap lyrics and quickly became widespread on social media through its use in hashtags and memes.

How is thot used?

While many women have reclaimed the term, thot is still generally considered offensive, disparaging, and misogynistic.
