What does mid mean?
Mid is used to describe something as mediocre, or of disappointing quality, particularly when others consider it exceptional. It serves to express that something falls short of expectations, or simply isn't impressive.

Where does mid come from? The modern slang sense of mid is believed to be a shortening of mid-grade, a designation in cannabis culture of medium quality. Beginning around 2019, the word started appearing outside drug culture, as a critical descriptor of things such as music albums, food, and experiences.
