Examples of fridge cigarette
I used to relax by having a cigarette and a Diet Coke but the cigarette always ruined the experience. I couldn’t enjoy my Diet Coke. I always knew this yet I smoked. Glad I stopped because now I can enjoy my cold Diet Coke (fridge cigarette) to its fullest potential.

Fridge cig is sooo perfect. I used to not drink soda at all. Only a Dr Pepper as a \little treat a few times a year. This year gave me a fridge cig addiction to Coke Zero.

Where does fridge cigarette come from?
On June 8, 2025, a video was posted on TikTok by the account @reallyrachelreno of the creator opening a can of Diet Coke on a picnic blanket and then taking a sip. Superimposed on the video was the text “overhead someone call Diet Coke a ‘fridge cigarette’ and nothing’s been more true to me since.” The video to date has racked up nearly 4 million views and started a viral trend of such videos.
How is fridge cigarette used?
Some cola enthusiasts have suggested that a 2-liter bottle of the beverage should be dubbed a “fridge cigar” but this has yet to generate as much traction.
In the caption to her original fridge cig video, Rachel Reno also called Diet Coke “a crispy ciggy,” and accordingly crispy (which is used frequently in the craft beer world to describe pilsners and other light lagers) is often used to describe fridge cigarettes.
