What does chalked mean?
Something or someone described as chalked is doomed, messed up, hopeless, busted, done for, wrecked, over, ruined, no good, or in an otherwise unenviable state.

Where does chalked come from?
The slang use of chalked as adjective is generally credited to the Call of Duty series of first-person shooter video games.
Chalked: When a situation is insurmountable and is nearing a finite end (e.g., “chalk one up”). However, we believe it’s never chalked.

Evidence of non-Call of Duty use of chalked dates back to the mid-2000s online, but within the timespan of the series, which began in 2003.
