What does bodied mean?
Bodied has two different but related slang uses. First, it's used with a form of get or be to say that someone has been completely beaten, outperformed, or humiliated. It appears in a variety of settings: music, gaming, sports, comedy, and everyday one-upmanship—anywhere one party comes out so far ahead that the margin of defeat cannot be called close. Secondly, it’s used as a past tense verb to say that someone has performed some action or task superbly well. The uses may seem kind of like opposites, but if you think of them each as being a version of conquer, the meaning makes sense: if you get bodied in a game you've been conquered; if you've bodied a challenging task you've conquered it.

Where does bodied come from?
This recent sense of bodied comes, unsurprisingly, from body (used as hip-hop slang for "to kill”). This use of body has existed for decades in lyrics, meaning both to kill someone or destroy them rhetorically. Gaming communities picked it up for lopsided matches, and it spread from there into general slang for any one-sided defeat, verbal or otherwise.

How is bodied used?
Bodied is generally used in the passive voice: “got bodied," "was bodied.” But it can also be used as an active verb ("she bodied him in the final round") when the focus is equally on the winner being praised. You'll also sometimes see body, bodies, or bodying with the same meanings, as in "we're going to totally body them," or "your gonna body that shot."
