: any of four nuclei in the medulla oblongata on each side of the floor of the fourth ventricle of the brain in which fibers of the vestibular nerve terminate — see inferior vestibular nucleus, lateral vestibular nucleus, medial vestibular nucleus, superior vestibular nucleus
