Authorities have warned people to take extra care when swimming in unsupervised areas, such as rivers or lakes, following the deaths of around 40 people in France over the past week.
Her team collected 20 water samples from five temporary rainwater ponds at Gunma Ecological Park in Pará state, Brazil, in April 2025, along with 100 tadpoles of the Venezuela snouted treefrog (Scinax x-signatus) from each pond.
