Medical Definition of ramipril

: an ACE inhibitor C23H32N2O5 taken orally to treat hypertension and congestive heart failure

Note: Ramipril is also used to reduce the likelihood of a future heart attack or stroke in individuals at high risk of having one. It is marketed under the trademark Altace.
