: a drug taken orally in the form of its mesylate C23H25N5O5·CH4O3S to relieve urethral obstruction in benign prostatic hyperplasia and to treat hypertension

Note: Doxazosin is a derivative of quinazoline that acts to relax smooth muscle by combining with and blocking the activity of an alpha-receptor. It is marketed under the trademark Cardura.
