  • Chediak \shād-yȧk\, Moises (flourished 1952), French physician , and Higashi \hē-gäsh-ē\, Ototaka (flourished 1954), Japanese physician. Chediak and Higashi independently of each other discovered the genetic disorder that bears their names.
