Rodney K.

(1931–2008), American orthopedic surgeon. Beals received his MD degree from the University of Oregon Medical School, the precursor to Oregon Health and Science University. From 1981 to 1994 he headed the division of orthopedics and rehabilitation in the school's department of surgery. From 1994 he was a professor in OHSU's department of orthopedics and rehabilitation. He was a nationally recognized researcher on skeletal manifestations of dwarfing conditions, having authored over 150 articles and other publications. He collaborated with pediatrician and medical geneticist Frederick Hecht. They first described congenital contractural arachnodactyly in 1971.
