: a venereal disease of rabbits that is caused by a spirochete (Treponema cuniculi) resembling that of human syphilis but infective only for the rabbit and is marked by superficial nodule formation and ulceration with edematous swelling of surrounding tissues especially about the external genitalia —called also vent disease
