: a tree (Schleichera oleosa) of the family Sapindaceae that grows in dry forests of southeastern Asia, has pinnate leaves, apetalous flowers, and dry fruits surrounded by pulpy arils and that yields a hard heavy reddish brown timber and from its seeds an oil that is used locally for cooking, illumination, and medicine — see macassar oil
