: a colorful, long-tailed, yellow-billed, tropical bird (Trogon elegans) of Mexico and Central America with a red belly and white band across the breast and with the back, chest, and head bright green in the male and brown in the female

Note: The elegant trogon occasionally nests in southern Arizona.
