Definition of Travancore

  1. region and former state of southwestern India on the Malabar Coast extending north from Cape Comorin Travancore was included in the former Indian state of Travancore and Cochinplay \kō-ˈchin, ˈkō-ˌchin\ play from 1949 to 1956 and had its capital at Thiruvananthapuram. It became part of Kerala in 1956.
