Biographical Note for TISELIUS APPARATUS

Ti·se·li·us \te-ˈsā-lē-u̇s\ Arne Wilhelm Kaurin (1902–1971), Swedish biochemist. Tiselius developed the use of electrophoresis in the 1920s for the separation of proteins in suspension on the basis of their electrical charge. In 1937 he introduced the radically improved apparatus that is now known as the Tiselius apparatus. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1948.
