Earlier this summer, we launched the Haiku That Can Pay You contest with a simple prompt: share a haiku about splitting a big expense and you could win a nice chunk of change. The submissions—more than 6,000 in total!—ranged everywhere from funny to touching to wonderfully bizarre. We read and thoroughly enjoyed them all, but in the end, only three could take home prizes. Here they are.

Our third place entry comes from Tyler Griesenbrock:

Still leads to a bill

Second place went to Matthew Tompkins:

Dave, once his check clears.

Our grand prize winner came from Mabel Yu:

We scored Hamilton

we're dueling at dawn.

Congratulations Mabel, Matthew, and Tyler!

Just me up the creek
