In the season finale of the ABC series Castle, the crime novelist and title character helps NYPD detective Kate Beckett pursue the man who shot her.

Along the way, Detective Beckett visits the gravestone of her mother, which is engraved with the message "VINCIT OMNIA VERITAS."

In Latin, "vincit omnia veritas" means "truth conquers all things." The similar Latin phrase "amor vincit omnia," meaning "love conquers all things," is also used in English contexts.
