When:

Lookups spiked on May 30, 2014.

Why:

For the first time in 52 years, there were two winners at the Scripps National Spelling Bee. In a dramatic championship round, Sriram Hathwar correctly spelled stichomythia and Ansun Sujoe spelled feuilleton.

Stichomythia means "dialogue especially of altercation or dispute delivered by two actors in alternating lines (as in classical Greek drama)". It comes from the Greek word with the same meaning.

Feuilleton means "a part of a European newspaper or magazine devoted to material designed to entertain the general reader." It's derived from the French word for "sheet of paper," which comes from the word meaning "leaf".
