Misogyny

Donald Trump's showing at the first Republican debate ...

When:

Lookups spiked August 7, 2015, and remained high until August 12.

Why:

Following the first televised debate in the Republican primary, during which Megyn Kelly noted some of the names Donald Trump has called women in the past, commentary came not only from pundits but from Trump himself, who insulted Kelly, bringing on more comments, articles, and interviews.

Misogyny means "a hatred of women," and comes from the Greek words for "hate" (misein) and "woman" (gynē). We can see those same Greek roots in other English words, such as misanthrope and gynecologist.
