sheet pile

noun

: any of various thick boards or planks that are wedge-shaped at the lower end and sometimes tongued on one edge and grooved on the other and are driven into the ground close together between gauged piles to form walls (as of a cofferdam)
also : a rolled steel member used for the same purpose and so designed that each pile interlocks along its edges with the adjacent piles
