Biographical Note for JOCASTA COMPLEX
Jocasta, Greek mythological character. In mythology Jocasta was the wife of Laius, the king of Thebes. After Laius was slain, she married Oedipus, who had assumed the throne. Eventually she learned that Oedipus was her long-lost son and the murderer of her husband. An unwitting partner in incest, she committed suicide.
