Biographical Note for JACOBSON'S CARTILAGE
Jacobson, Ludwig Levin (1783–1843), Danish anatomist. Jacobson was a specialist in comparative anatomy. He discovered the vomeronasal organ and the vomeronasal cartilage in 1809. He published an article on the anatomy of the ear in 1818 that contained his descriptions of the scala tympani, the tympanic nerve, and the tympanic plexus.
