Medical Definition of INGUINAL RING

:  either of two openings in the fasciae of the abdominal muscles on each side of the body that are the inlet and outlet of the inguinal canal, give passage to the spermatic cord in the male and the round ligament in the female, and are a frequent site of hernia formation :  abdominal ring: a :  deep inguinal ring b :  superficial inguinal ring
