Biographical Note for GREGORY'S POWDER
Gregory, James (1753–1821), British physician. In 1780 Gregory published a volume that contains many of his remedies including the powder that bears his name. He made few original investigations but spent much of his time in public controversy. In general he advocated preventive medicine, stressing especially healthful living and moderation in all things.
