Biographical Note for BERTIN'S COLUMN

Ber·tin \ber-taⁿ\ , Exupère Joseph (1712–1781), French anatomist. Bertin is known primarily for his study of the kidneys. He wrote classic descriptions of the renal columns, which are also known as the columns of Bertin, and of the nasal conchae. He also studied blood circulation in the fetus, the anatomy of the lacrimal system, and the organs of speech.
