: a rectangular metal frame fitted with adjustable straps of canvas or webbing and used to support a patient with disease or fractures of the spine, hip, or pelvis
Bradford, Edward Hickling (1848–1926), American orthopedist. The inventor of the Bradford frame, Bradford described the frame in a treatise on orthopedic surgery published in 1890. Originally designed for handling children with tuberculosis of the spine, the frame was later modified for use in other orthopedic conditions.
