Merriam-Webster Online is the product of collaboration between the various departments at Merriam-Webster, Inc. The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary and Thesaurus were created entirely by the Merriam-Webster editorial staff. The Web site was developed by and is administered and maintained by Merriam-Webster's Electronic Product Development team:

Rebecca Bryer is the managing editor of the Word of the Day, Word for the Wise comes to us from Kathleen Taylor at WAMC radio, and Bill Albright of Reliant Systems is the mastermind behind the daily Word Games.

The Web team works closely with Hillary Hoffman, Director of Marketing; Lynn Stowe Tomb, Art Director; and Arthur Bicknell, Publicist.

Several people were instrumental in the original design and implementation of Merriam-Webster Online, including Kara Noble, Deborah Burns, Lisa Carlson, Jill Cooney, and Brett Palmer.
