Common pyroxenes belong to either the low-calcium enstatite-(ortho)ferrosilite series, (Mg,Fe)SiO, or the high-calcium diopside-hedenbergite series, Ca(Mg,Fe)SiO. Rare pyroxenes include jadeite, aegirine, and johannsenite. See also enstatite.
