Llanquihue, Lake

geographical name

Lake, south-central Chile. The country's largest lake, it has an area of about 330 sq mi (860 sq km); it is 22 mi (35 km) long and 25 mi (40 km) wide. In the distance stand volcanoes and beyond them, on the Argentine border, Mount Tronador (11,660 ft [3,554 m]). Popular resort towns are located on its shores.
